We have been collaborating with the British Pilgrimage Trust to add value to the Eastbourne Walking Festival by introducing more Eastbourne locals to a new pilgrimage route that winds through 250 miles of England’s most idyllic landscapes – including the Eastbourne Downland Estate: the Old Way. This pilgrimage route begins in Southampton and ends in Canterbury at the shrine of Saint Thomas Beckett in Canterbury Cathedral. Part of the route includes an optional visit to the Holywell on Eastbourne’s seafront, a place worthy of pilgrimage in its own right.

We have been commissioned to create a special pilgrimage route for the first ever Spring Water Festival in Eastbourne, due in May 2021. This route follows a branch of the Old Way along the eastern escarpment of the South Downs from Butts Brow to Holywell, passing many sites sacred or special to both prehistoric and present-day people.
